About The Position

West Liberty University is seeking applications for an Clinical Coordinator PA Studies. The clinical coordinator is responsible for management and coordination of the clinical education component of the WLU PA program. This position involves collaboration with clinical sites, preceptors, faculty, and students to ensure the effective implementation of clinical rotations, adherence to accreditation standards, and the provision of high-quality clinical experiences for PA students. The clinical coordinator also participates in other aspects of the program including program recruitment and promotion and program self-evaluation. The clinical coordinator is a staff member in the WLU PA Program.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee the planning, coordination, and evaluation of clinical rotations for PA students.
  • Collaborate with the director of clinical education to secure and maintain relationships with diverse and high-quality clinical sites.
  • Secure and maintain clinical training affiliation agreements.
  • Identify, evaluate, and develop relationships with potential clinical sites that align with program goals.
  • Provide ongoing support and resources to clinical preceptors for effective student supervision.
  • Foster positive relationships with healthcare professionals serving as preceptors.
  • Distribute clinical training manuals to sites and preceptors.
  • Coordinate the assignment of students to clinical sites and preceptors, considering program requirements and individual student needs.
  • Collaborate with the director of clinical education to ensure proper documentation of student clinical experiences.
  • Provide appropriate required onboarding paperwork to students and clinical sites.
  • Monitor student patient logging in Typhon.
  • Update and monitor electronic scheduling platforms for compliance.
  • Collaborates closely with director of clinical education and clinical administrative assistant to maintain accurate clinical year data.
  • Work closely with the director of clinical education to ensure compliance with accreditation standards related to clinical education.
  • Assist in the preparation and submission of accreditation reports and documentation.
  • Participate in accreditation process and address recommendations related to clinical education.
  • Provide guidance and support to students during their clinical rotations.
  • Collaborate with the director of clinical education and faculty to address any clinical concerns or challenges faced by students.
  • Assist in the implementation and monitoring of policies related to student clinical experiences.
  • Assist director of clinical education with implementation and monitoring of quality assurance measures for clinical education.
  • Assist director of clinical education with regular evaluations of clinical sites and preceptors to ensure adherence to program standards.
  • Develop and implement strategies for continuous improvement in clinical scheduling.
  • Attend and participate in assigned departmental committees.
  • Assist with program self-evaluation that includes policy, curriculum review, and accreditation.
  • Perform other functions in support of the program as requested by the program director.
  • Foster positive relationships with clinical partners, healthcare organizations, and healthcare community stakeholders.
  • Represent the program at community events as necessary.
  • Seek opportunities to expand and enhance clinical training partnerships.
