Requirements

  • Terminal degree or graduate degree in a field relevant to the assigned course content (e.g., MS, PhD, MD, DO, PA-C, PharmD, or another applicable credential).
  • Current board certification and licensure, if applicable, in the healthcare profession aligned with course content.
  • Minimum of three years of clinical or academic experience in the subject area being taught.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior teaching or instructional experience in higher education preferred.
  • Familiarity with ARC-PA accreditation standards
  • Experience using instructional technologies

Responsibilities

  • Deliver assigned lectures or lab instruction in accordance with the course syllabus and program goals
  • Integrate varied instructional methodologies to foster active learning and student engagement
  • Utilize NYIT’s Learning Management System (Canvas) to support course delivery and communication
  • Assess student performance through exams, assignments, and/or observed competencies
  • Provide timely remediation and feedback to students in accordance with department policies
  • Contribute to course and program-level assessment and quality improvement processes
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance and grades
  • Uphold academic integrity and ensure a supportive, inclusive learning environment
  • Collaborate with course directors or the Director of Didactic Education on course materials and improvements
  • Attend scheduled course-related meetings as requested by the course director or program administration.
  • Adhere to program policies, including academic integrity, assessment protocols, and grading timelines.
  • Hold office hours to meet with students outside of class to support learning
