About The Position

Southwest General Health Center is a 352-bed community hospital located in Middleburg Heights, Ohio. The Operating Room has 16 operating rooms that provide a variety of surgical services. Patient acuity varies. Call is required, and on call sleep rooms are available. Amount of call and weekends depend on department needs. The Clinical Coordinator - OR is responsible for assisting the Clinical Manager (CM) with the oversight of daily operations of the assigned Clinical Department. Under the supervision of the Clinical Manager, the Clinical Coordinator -OR is responsible for the development and coordination of activities that promote clinically effective and efficient patient care for the surgical patient. Plans, organizes and directs the patient care experience as delegated by the Clinical Manager. Collaborates with the clinical manager in maintaining the operational aspects of the patient unit, supervising and evaluating assigned personnel as well as addressing performance issues and assisting with orientation/continuing education tasks. Assists in recruiting, hiring and training of nursing staff. Supports staff retention. Consults and collaborates with interdisciplinary team members to provide safe, quality-focused patient care. Ensures a culture of accountability. Demonstrates the ability to problem solve.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • A minimum of three (3) years recent full-time operating room clinical experience as an RN circulator with scrub experience is required.
  • Current license by the Ohio State Board of Nursing.
  • CPR, BLS required.
  • ACLS required within 6 months of hire.
  • Must demonstrate effective problem solving and decision making abilities.
  • The ability to plan and prioritize and excellent time management skills are essential to success in this role.

Nice To Haves

  • One (1) year in a leadership role preferred, i.e. charge nurse duties
  • CNOR preferred.
