About The Position

Working in a team environment, you will be responsible for program administration, supervision and staff development within the Counseling Services Department. You will assist with the day to day design, implementation, management and evaluation of specialized behavioral health programs.

Requirements

  • Completed Master’s degree in Counseling/ Psychology or Social Work.
  • Has licensure through California BBS or in progress.
  • One to three years of supervision/management experience.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to think creatively and organize workflow.
  • Ability to establish priorities and timelines and to meet them.
  • Experience and ability to motivate and supervise staff.
  • Having a working knowledge of learning styles and awareness of cultural diversity issues.
  • Ability to handle crisis situations and decide appropriate course of action.
  • Ability to communicate in a clear, concise and positive manner with youth, parent and agency representatives.
  • Working knowledge of community resources.
  • Ability to work with a variety of people and situations.
  • Pass agency paid criminal justice screening.
  • Pass agency paid TB (Tuberculosis) screening.
  • Pass agency paid health screening and/or drug testing, if required.
  • Valid CA driver’s license and proof of auto insurance.
  • Pass agency paid MVR clearance with no more than 2 points – if you are under the age of 25 our insurance will not allow any points.

Responsibilities

  • Works with Clinic Manager to operate agency’s outpatient counseling clinic activities, including but not limited to the oversight of agency’s Practicum Training Program for Pre-Master’s Level students, clinical oversight of Managed Care Program and clinical oversight of all contracted agency clinical program (i.e. StanWorks, CSA, YNC, etc.)
  • Develops and maintains close working relationships with community agencies.
  • Reviews clinical documentation per insurance billing requirements.
  • Acts as administrative point person for agency’s clinical supervisors to share information and troubleshoot as needed.
  • Participates as a member of the agency’s behavioral health leadership team and supports overarching department goals, objectives, and contract requirements.
  • Participates in internal and external program and team meetings as assigned by Manager.
  • Collaborates with community agencies regarding program services.
  • Conduct follow-up and evaluation meetings with community agencies.
  • Collect and review data for performance and evaluation purposes
  • Compiles statistics required by agency, contracts and grants.
  • Assist in preparation of written reports and data summaries.
  • Develop program related trainings and materials.
  • Maintain records and complete all necessary paperwork.
  • Perform assigned duties with a positive attitude and in the spirit of teamwork and cooperation.
  • Participate as a member of the administrative team to support front reception in responding to clients, client record requests and clinical questions from the general public.
  • Assist in weekly rotation of closing the agency Main Office
  • Assist in maintaining access to clinical crisis cell phone on a monthly rotating basis.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
