About The Position
The Clinical Coordinator for Educating Character Initiative (ECI) will oversee undergraduate Nursing faculty development for all clinical personnel engaged with students in acute care and community settings. This role involves developing and administering assessment tools for tracking the effectiveness of Virtue Education, managing research on program effectiveness related to Virtue Ethics, Mindfulness, Habit Formation, and Moral Development. The coordinator will also develop and refine outcomes addressing Virtue Ethics in each Nursing course, design and analyze reflection exercises for clinical experiences (including patient encounters and simulations), and conduct rounding/debriefing after clinical experiences. Additionally, this position will coordinate with the Health System’s new Nursing Development Specialist to ensure a smooth transition for students from their first year through their first two years as a nurse. This is a grant-funded position with funding secured through 2028, with renewal dependent on continued funding and institutional approval.
Requirements
- Undergraduate Nursing faculty development oversight
- Experience with Virtue Education assessment tools
- Research management skills in areas of Virtue Ethics, Mindfulness, Habit Formation, and Moral Development
- Ability to develop and refine course outcomes
- Experience designing and analyzing reflection exercises for clinical experiences
- Experience with patient encounters and simulation assignments
- Experience with rounding/debriefing clinical experiences
- Coordination with health system specialists
Responsibilities
