About The Position

Avania is looking for a Clinical Contracts Associate to join our growing clinical contracts team. As the fourth member of the team, you will support clinical trial startup by developing and negotiating site contracts and budgets across the US and international markets. You will act as a facilitator between sites, sponsors, and internal teams, helping resolve contract and budget issues while keeping startup timelines on track. This role is well suited to an experienced clinical contracts professional who can work autonomously, exercise sound judgment, and provide practical guidance in a developing department and growing global company.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and review clinical contract templates, including templates used in different countries.
  • Negotiate contracts and budgets with clinical trial sites.
  • Drive contract negotiations to completion so site initiation, activation, and enrollment activities can proceed as planned.
  • Facilitate communication between sites and sponsors, including resolving competing requests and explaining why certain terms cannot be accepted.
  • Provide contract expertise and guidance to sites, sponsors, and internal stakeholders.
  • Build strong working relationships with clinical operations, project management, finance, and global partners.
  • Present contract-related information in project kickoff meetings and other stakeholder discussions.
  • Track progress, follow up on outstanding items, identify risks, and escalate issues before timelines are missed.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and workflows using systems such as SharePoint, Smartsheet, Outlook, Foxit, Agiloft, and a trial master file system.
  • Review contract language, budgets, and recipient details carefully to reduce operational and contractual risk.
