About The Position

The Clinical Consultant is responsible for reviewing, analyzing, and interpreting medical information. The role works collaboratively with claims professionals, on-site physicians, and other resources in multiple settings to assess medical information and determine appropriate next steps. The consultant collaborates with healthcare providers to clarify functional capacity, recovery expectations, and treatment plans, and to initiate return-to-work plans where appropriate. The role is accountable for providing exceptional service and a positive experience in every interaction.

Requirements

Associate degree in Nursing.
Active RN license.
Proven ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's degree in Nursing is strongly preferred.
Three or more years of clinical experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Assess and synthesize claim file information using medical knowledge, and provide balanced conclusions.
Clearly and concisely communicate complex medical issues, both verbally and in writing, in a fast-paced, multidisciplinary team environment.
Collaborate with internal resources to identify pertinent medical documentation needed to accurately assess claim direction.
Collaborate with external resources to establish partnerships, discuss treatment plans, clarify functional capacity, and assess claim direction.
Coach non-medical staff to increase their medical knowledge.
Work with urgency and flexibility in a rapidly changing environment while meeting quality and quantity performance standards.
Maintain professional certifications, stay current with new trends in the medical field, and complete required educational activities.
