About The Position

Cottage Medical Group seeks a Clinical Concierge (Licensed Vocational Nurse-Certified Medical Assistant) for their Cottage Urgent Care-Orcutt-Orcutt Hill Clinic. This role is responsible for registering, taking payments, rooming patients, assisting the provider with care and treatment, discharging patients, and following up with patients. The Clinical Concierge's primary function is to guide patients and their "secondary guests" through the entire experience to maximize clinical excellence, reduce treatment times, and enhance the overall patient experience, both before, during, and after their visit. This position is a crucial part of the office team, caring for patients in a clinical setting under the direction of the Site Manager and the on-duty provider. The role involves close collaboration with the provider and other clinical staff. Key responsibilities include performing various clinical functions within a clinical setting, requiring knowledge of standard resources and data, discretion, good judgment, diplomacy, decision-making, and a strong customer service attitude. The Clinical Concierge will assist the provider with both front-office and back-office duties in the outpatient management of patients on a rotating basis. Acting as a patient advocate, the Clinical Concierge will have continuous contact with providers, patients, patient families/significant others, community agencies, and patient care staff and management.

Requirements

  • Successful completion of a Vocational Nurse or Medical Assistant education program or 2 years of equivalent work experience.
  • California licensure as a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) or CA Medical Assistant Certification
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) for Health Care Providers.
  • Knowledge of urgent care medical specialty.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Knowledge of electronic medical record, preferably Epic.
  • Basic computer/email skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to perform phlebotomy and administer injections.
  • 1 year of experience as an LVN, medical assistant, or equivalent, including previous experience with an electronic health record and phlebotomy.
