This position involves extracting billable services from patient charts, applying appropriate CPT and ICD-10 codes, and entering this information into AxiUm for submission. The role requires close collaboration with faculty, fellows, and residents to provide education on correct coding, proper documentation for maximizing physician reimbursement, and ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations. The Clinical Coder will also inform financial counselors and faculty of significant changes in coding and reimbursement, participate in educational sessions for providers, and provide feedback to resolve billing and coding issues to ensure accuracy. Additionally, the role supports financial office staffing with patient financial counseling, securing pre-authorizations, and insurance verification. Attendance at continuing education courses, seminars, conferences, and meetings is expected, along with performing other assigned duties.
