About The Position

St. Elizabeth Healthcare is hiring a Clinical Care Technician for our Emergency Department located within the Florence Hospital. This role provides direct and indirect patient care to support the unit or facility as directed by a Registered Nurse (RN). The technician participates as a member of the patient care delivery team by collecting basic laboratory specimens and two-hour troponins, collecting legal alcohol specimens, performing EKGs and two-hour EKGs with troponins, assisting with lifting and transporting, performing vital signs, cleaning and bandaging wounds, splinting fractures, and performing other duties delegated by nursing staff within the scope of training. The role also involves transporting patients to testing, performing CPR on full arrests as a member of the code team, and following all policies and procedures for accurate and timely specimen collection and EKG performance. The Clinical Care Technician assists nursing staff with patient care needs, performs frequent rounding, and ensures the environment is conducive to care.

Requirements

  • Highschool Diploma / GED
  • BLS Certification
  • Ability to perform such tasks as vital signs
  • Demonstrates knowledge of body mechanics
  • Hospital Orientation

Responsibilities

  • Collection of basic laboratory specimens and two hour troponins
