About The Position

This role involves working with an interdisciplinary team to support and care for a patient population with a vast array of medical and behavioral components. The Registered Nurse in the Clinical Care Leader (CCL) role facilitates health care services for patients in cooperation with the health care team, ensuring clear communication and effective collaboration. The CCL applies the concept of collaboration to build relationships and coordinate with other teams, providing feedback to members of the health care team.

Requirements

Graduate from an accredited nursing program, including, but not limited to, those accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE), Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN), or National League for Nursing Commission for Nursing Education Accreditation (NLN CNEA).
Currently holds an unencu mbered RN license with the State Board of Nursing where the practice of nursing is occurring and/or possess multistate licensure if in a Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) state.
Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications.
Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 60 days of employment into position.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor's degree in Nursing strongly preferred in Fargo, Fargo Network, Bemidji, Sioux Falls Network and Rapid City. Required in Bismarck and Sioux Falls (Sanford USD Medical Center and Clinics).
Minimum of two years’ clinical experience preferred.
Certification may be required depending on specialty or service area.

Responsibilities

Utilizing the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes/planning, implementation and evaluation) to provide individualized nursing care to patients.
Collaborating with other inter-professional colleagues, including physicians, to plan, implement and evaluate care.
Demonstrating competency and practicing within the full scope of nursing expertise/knowledge and utilizing appropriate age and population specific standards.
Caring for patients in all phases of preventative care, health maintenance, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up.
Coordinating care, patient assessment, patient education, triage, and various other nursing interventions.
Functioning within the scopes and standards of nursing practice as outlined in the Nurse Practice Act and Administrative Rules.
Coordinating the clinical/unit nursing activities while adhering to Sanford Health philosophy, goals, and standards of care.
Acknowledging impact on budget and finance through staffing and ensuring safe patient care.
Using critical thinking skills to collaborate and coordinate patient care and manage emergent situations.
Intervening when unsafe practices are identified.
Making patient assignments based on employee's competencies, scope of practice, experience and patient's unique needs.
Demonstrating effective communication skills to negotiate and resolve conflicts.
Serving as a mentor to staff while facilitating the over-all unit activities.
Participating in house-wide and/or departmental committees and assisting with the coordination of the Peer Review Process for employees.
Participating in active learning and development resources.
Utilizing appropriate age-related patient care protocols relating to the physical and psychological needs of patients.
