About The Position

The Clinical Care Coordinator I provides patient care according to the needs of age-specific populations and assists in managing patient care in a physician office setting under the direct supervision of a provider. This position is in FPG Pulmonology in Venice. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Individuals providing care to vulnerable populations must undergo background screening through The Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse as part of Sarasota Memorial Health Care System’s employment screening requirements.

Requirements

• Meet one of the following qualifications: current/active Certified or Registered Medical Assistant (CMA or RMA) certification from an accredited certifying agency; an active Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) license and at least one year of medical assistant or clinical healthcare experience; or at least one year of medical assistant work experience, with CMA or RMA certification obtained within 12 months of hire/start date.
• Have Basic Life Support/CPR certification, or obtain it within 30 days of hire/transfer date.
• High school diploma, GED, or certificate.
• Undergo required background screening through The Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse when providing care to vulnerable populations.

Nice To Haves

• One year of clinical experience in an outpatient physician’s office practice.
• Experience with electronic practice management and electronic health record programs.
• Ability to demonstrate self-direction and initiative.
• Demonstrated knowledge of electronic practice management and electronic health records software, along with skill in Microsoft Office programs: Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
