About The Position
The Clinical Care Assistant (CCA) is responsible for assisting the medical assistant and/or nursing staff with administrative and clinical duties under the direction of a provider. This role involves patient care in the Physical Med and Rehab department at the Bone and Joint Center. The CCA will help update patient schedules, take vital signs, transport patients, prepare patients for examinations, clean exam rooms, stock supplies, and may perform phlebotomy with specific training.
Requirements
- Must be 17 years of age or older.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to work independently and collaboratively in a team.
- Carry out delegated tasks under the supervision of clinical staff.
- Flexibility and ability to work in a multi-tasking environment.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in work that involved direct contact with people.
- Previous experience in health care setting, particularly in an ambulatory clinic setting.
Responsibilities
- Updating the patient schedule to indicate arrival and designated room.
- Measurement of blood pressure, pulse, respirations, pulse oximetry, temperature, height, and weight.
- Patient transport.
- Preparing patients for examination.
- Exam room cleaning.
- Stocking of supplies.
- Spraying instruments with holding gel and sending to Sterile Processing for sterilization.
- Phlebotomy with specific training.
