The Clinical Bereavement Supervisor is responsible for clinical supervision of all Associate Bereavement Counselors and Bereavement Trainee counseling staff and is also responsible for providing individual and group counseling to adults, family, and children. By the Bay Health follows all CDPH vaccine requirements for healthcare personnel.

Requirements

  • Master degree in the area of mental health from an accredited university.
  • Minimum of 2 year’s clinical experience, preferably in a health care setting providing clinical services in the areas of life‑threatening and chronic illness, grief and loss, individual, family and group therapy.
  • Minimum of 2 year’s experience supervising Associate and/or BV Trainees in an agency setting requirements.
  • Current CA MFT or LCSW or LPCC License
  • Certification to provide clinical supervision as outlined by the Board of Behavioral Sciences.
  • Current California Driver’s License and automobile insurance that meets State of California requirements, if driving a car.

Nice To Haves

  • CAMFT certified supervisor preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Under the direction of the Bereavement Services Manager, develop, implement and maintain a comprehensive Grief Counseling training program, consistent with requirements of the California Board of Behavioral Sciences including tracking hours of supervision and monitoring for change of status.
  • Provide individual and group clinical supervisory oversight to bereavement Associate and/or BV Trainees based in Marin, Sonoma and San Francisco.
  • Participate in community speaking engagements and in-services as requested.
  • Provide individual grief counseling to adults, families, and children as needed.
  • Facilitate grief/loss support groups as needed including co-facilitation with trainees and Associate as part of their formal training process.
