About The Position

The Eastern Shoshone Recovery Program is seeking a compassionate, skilled, and culturally grounded Clinical Behavioral Health Therapist/Counselor – Addictions to join their team. This role provides an opportunity to support individuals, families, and the community through a full continuum of substance use and behavioral health services rooted in both evidence-based practices and culturally relevant healing approaches. Under the supervision of the Clinical Supervisor, this position delivers comprehensive addiction counseling services, including assessment, treatment planning, individual and group therapy, and care coordination. The ideal candidate is committed to culturally responsive care and values a holistic, strength-based approach to recovery.

Requirements

  • State of Wyoming licensure/certification in addiction counseling OR equivalent national certification
  • Degree in a related field (AA, BA, BS, MA, or MSW)
  • Knowledge of: ASAM placement criteria, DSM-5 diagnostic standards, Evidence-based treatment and relapse prevention models, 12-step philosophy and other therapeutic approaches
  • Understanding of culturally responsive care, particularly Native American healing practices such as the Red Road
  • Strong group facilitation and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of HIPAA and confidentiality regulations
  • Proficiency with computers and electronic documentation systems
  • Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record
  • No felony or DUI convictions within the past 3 years
  • Ability to pass a background check
  • First Aid and CPR certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days)
  • Commitment to a recovery-oriented lifestyle (abstaining from alcohol and drug use while employed)

Responsibilities

  • Provide a full continuum of care including: Assessments and diagnostic evaluations, Individual and group outpatient treatment, Intervention and follow-up services, Referrals to residential treatment programs
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the Electronic Health Record (EHR)
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and external agencies to coordinate care
  • Facilitate group sessions for adults, youth, and families
  • Apply strength-based and culturally relevant treatment approaches, including traditional healing practices
  • Respond to crisis situations in accordance with agency policies and safety protocols
  • Uphold professional and ethical standards, including adherence to NAADAC and/or other applicable codes of ethics
