Clinical Audiologist - Outpatient Audiology Clinic
About The Position
We are searching for a Clinical Audiologist with the Outpatient Audiology Clinic in The Woodlands - someone to provide the highest quality age-appropriate audiologic care for patients newborn to 21 years of age within the scope of practice and established practice standards for Audiology. The Clinical Generalist functions effectively as a member of the clinical team and supports the mission of Texas Children's Hospital. “As part of our commitment to maintaining a safe and healthy workplace, all successful candidates will be required to undergo respiratory fit testing in compliance with occupational health and safety standards.”
Requirements
- Doctorate required
- TXAUDLIC - Texas Audiology License
- Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (or Texas Department of State Health if issued prior to 2017)
- BLS - Cert-Basic Life Support - American Heart Association
- CCC-A - Cert-Audiology - American Speech-Language-Hearing Association within 6 months of position start date
- ABA-CERT - Cert-Audiology - American Board of Audiology within 6 months of entering the role
Nice To Haves
- Doctorate in Audiology preferred
Responsibilities
- Provides diagnostic assessments
- Documentation and patient/family education
- Amplification evaluations/dispensing, verification, validation, programming and training
- Counsels/educates parents regarding test results/recommendations/financial resources
- At least 2 director approved ½ hour topic or case presentations per year to staff, residents, parents, community, and other professionals
- Test room listening checks
- Hearing aid room maintenance, soft-ware updates
- Serves on audiology committees or specialty teams
