Provides services to patients and athletes who have impairments, functional limitations or changes in physical function and health status as a result of injury, illness or other causes with occasional guidance. Actively collaborates with the health care/educational team which consists of the Director of Sports Medicine, team physicians, Vanderbilt University Medical Center specialists, athletic trainers and physical therapists to meet patient care, outcomes and system treatment, rehabilitation care to athletes using modalities, personnel, equipment and supply resources. This position is ideal for an Athletic Trainer who enjoys building strong provider relationships, thinking critically in real time, and working in a fast-paced clinical environment where no two days are the same. Partner directly with orthopedic physicians to support patient evaluation, treatment, and care coordination. Assist with clinical procedures, patient education, and day-to-day orthopedic care activities. Communicate effectively with patients, providers, and multidisciplinary team members to ensure seamless care delivery. Support patients across a broad range of orthopedic and sports medicine diagnoses. Serve as a patient advocate while helping create an outstanding clinical experience. Utilize critical thinking, sound judgment, and problem-solving skills to support clinic operations and patient care.
