About The Position
The Clinical Associate works under the direction of a nurse and performs basic procedures to support patients’ care, comfort, and safety. The role contributes to care quality and patient satisfaction by addressing patients’ physical and emotional needs. This is a per diem position at Winchester Hospital.
Requirements
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification.
- Must meet at least one of the following: be a Certified Nursing Assistant; be a nursing student who has completed one medical-surgical clinical rotation; have three months of clinical care experience; or have successfully completed the Winchester Hospital Clinical Associate Training Program (CATP).
- Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English with patients, visitors, and hospital team members.
- A high school diploma or equivalent is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living.
- Reposition and ambulate patients.
- Make occupied and unoccupied beds.
- Assist with transporting patients, beds, supplies, and equipment.
- Collect, label, and transport specimens.
- Retrieve and sign out blood products.
- Perform point-of-care testing accurately.
- Obtain vital signs and weights.
- Maintain accurate intake and output measurements.
- Remove Foley catheters and saline locks.
