About The Position
Winchester Hospital is seeking a per diem Clinical Associate. Working under the direction of a nurse, the Clinical Associate performs basic procedures to support patient care, comfort, and safety. This clinical staff role contributes to care quality and patient satisfaction by helping meet patients’ physical and emotional needs. The position is at Winchester Hospital, a 223-bed regional hospital serving the northwest suburban Boston area and part of Beth Israel Lahey Health. The organization requires staff to be vaccinated against influenza as a condition of employment.
Requirements
- BLS – Basic Life Support certification.
- Must meet at least one of the following: Certified Nursing Assistant; nursing student who has completed one medical-surgical clinical rotation; three months of clinical care experience; or successful completion of Winchester Hospital’s Clinical Associate Training Program (CATP).
- For safety and quality reasons, must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English with patients, visitors, and hospital team members.
- Influenza vaccination is required as a condition of employment.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or equivalent is strongly preferred.
- Basic computer skills are preferred.
Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living.
- Reposition and ambulate patients.
- Make occupied and unoccupied beds.
- Assist with transporting patients, beds, supplies, and equipment.
- Collect, label, and transport specimens.
- Retrieve and sign out blood products.
- Perform point-of-care testing accurately.
- Obtain vital signs and weights.
- Maintain accurate intake and output measurements.
- Remove Foley catheters and saline locks.
