About The Position

UChicago Medicine Ingalls Memorial Hospital is hiring a Clinical Associate (CNA) for its Med/Surg Telemetry unit. This onsite role provides supportive work connected to patient care under the leadership of the Manager and Clinical Supervisor. The Clinical Associate prepares patients, assists with meals, and provides direct care to meet patients’ personal, physical, and comfort needs. The role uses interactive processes to exceed the expectations of patients, physicians, families, and significant others while supporting high-quality, cost-effective care. The employee must demonstrate the skills and knowledge required by unit-specific competencies and the Center’s Scope of Care, appropriate to the ages and needs of the patients served. The position is based onsite in the greater Chicagoland area and works 12-hour night shifts.

Requirements

Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).
Active BLS certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
High school diploma or equivalent.
Completed Medical Terminology course.
Past or current experience in an acute-care hospital setting.

Follow the plan of care under the leadership of the staff nurse by completing assigned direct patient-care tasks.
Assist with admissions by preparing patient rooms; orienting patients to rooms; obtaining height, weight, temperature, pulse, respiration rate, and blood pressure (in both arms when applicable); changing clothing; and labeling and storing personal care items.
Follow infection-control policies and procedures.
