About The Position

This role involves providing assistance to staff as needed, based on the individual's certification or training level. Key responsibilities include managing medical supplies, accurate documentation, transcribing prescriptions, initiating and maintaining health records with strict confidentiality, preparing records for various appointments and transfers, and performing general clerical duties. The position also requires ensuring the proper stocking of medical supplies and equipment, assisting with log maintenance, and providing direct patient care under supervision. Additionally, performing 15-minute patient checks and other assigned duties within the scope of capabilities are expected.

Requirements

  • Level of certification or training achieved.
  • Ability to provide accurate documentation and inventory.
  • Ability to transcribe prescription requests and enter information into log.
  • Ability to create labels and Medication Administration Records.
  • Ability to initiate health records for inmates/detainees.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all medical record information.
  • Monitor and maintain accountability for all health records on file.
  • Pull and prepare health records for practitioners (medical, dental and mental health), sick call, chronic care visits and transfers.
  • File loose paperwork and perform other clerical duties.
  • Ensure medical supply cart, trauma bag, the PPE room and the facility first aid kits are fully and accurately stocked.
  • Submit order forms for medical and office supplies.
  • Assist with maintenance of the Sick Call, Chronic Clinic, and Specialty Logs.
  • Provide patient care according to nurse or physician instructions and appropriate to level of training.
  • Perform 15-minute checks on identified patients and document encounters.

Responsibilities
