About The Position
The Nursing Resource Pool (NRP) is a team of various healthcare professionals including Nurses (ICU, progressive-care, and medical-surgical), Nursing Assistants, and Patient Observation Aides. The NRP staff function as a flexible resource, deployed throughout the hospital to areas experiencing short staffing. This role offers a valuable learning experience, allowing exposure to a wide range of patient care across different hospital units, ensuring a dynamic and engaging work environment. The NRP staff are highly valued for their expertise and support by patients, families, and hospital staff.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Completion of nursing assistant program and/or one year of nursing assistant experience.
- American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support required
- Current CNA certification preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide patient care assignments as delegated by and under the direction of a registered nurse.
- Clerical/manages supplies/equipment in designated care areas.
- Provides care to the patient according to the plan of care, unit routine and hospital policy.
- Documents in electronic medical record.
- Acts as a receptionist and organizes daily work assignment based on unit priorities.
- Organizes daily work assignments based on unit priorities.
- Actively participates in safety initiatives and risk mitigating measures where appropriate and completes all position and unit safety related competencies and requirements on a timely basis.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
