About The Position

The Nursing Resource Pool (NRP) is a team of various healthcare professionals including Nurses (ICU, progressive-care, and medical-surgical), Nursing Assistants, and Patient Observation Aides (Patient Sitters). The NRP staff function as a critical support system for the hospital, deploying throughout the facility to assist areas experiencing short staffing. This role offers a valuable learning experience, especially for students, as it exposes them to a wide range of patient care across nearly all hospital units. NRP staff are rarely bored due to the diverse patient populations they serve daily. Their contributions are highly valued and appreciated by patients, families, and hospital staff alike. Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Completion of a nursing assistant program and/or one year of nursing assistant experience.
• American Heart Association or American Red Cross Basic Life Support required.
• Must attend a full week of corporate orientation, Monday-Friday, 7am-3:30pm, consecutively.

Nice To Haves

• Current CNA certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide patient care assignments as delegated by and under the direction of a registered nurse.
• Clerical duties, including managing supplies and equipment in designated care areas.
• Provide patient care according to the plan of care, unit routine, and hospital policy.
• Document patient information in the electronic medical record.
• Act as a receptionist and organize daily work assignments based on unit priorities.
• Actively participate in safety initiatives and risk mitigation measures.
• Complete all position and unit safety-related competencies and requirements in a timely manner.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
