The Clinical Assistant Professor Faculty should have earned a DDS/DMD degree, having a minimum of five (5) years' experience in general dentistry. S/he should be committed to educating and empowering students with a wide range of clinical and academic abilities. The Clinical Assistant Professor Faculty must be eligible for and obtain licensure in the state of Illinois and must be able to obtain an unrestricted DEA license. Reporting to the Associate Dean for Clinical Education, the Clinical Faculty will work directly with students in the patient care clinic, supervising all areas of general dentistry. The role requires being a positive role model, adhering to college protocols, and demonstrating competence in current and future dental technologies. The faculty member will mentor students, engage in lifelong learning, adopt various teaching techniques, and serve on committees. Professional interaction with all faculty, students, staff, and patients is expected, along with developing and delivering lectures and utilizing the college's digital record-keeping system. Timely completion of notes, codes, and student evaluations is also required, along with demonstrating collaborative relationships with dental specialists and being a positive influence within the college.
