About The Position

The Faculty Clinical Track emphasizes professional service in clinical settings. Key Roles and Responsibilities: Involved in site preparation, commissioning and acceptance testing of the new radiation treatment systems. Maintains primary responsibility for clinical radiation therapy equipment operations, including workflow through the department. Identifies and resolves daily operational issues related to the radiation therapy equipment aspects of patient care. Provides daily direction and supervision of various staff, including Physicists, Dosimetrists therapists, and radiation therapy staff. Ensures that the quality assurance and monitoring plans achieve the goal of ensuring the highest quality of patient care and patient safety. Maintains knowledge of current industry standards set by professional organizations, including the American College of Radiology and the American Association for Physicists in Medicine, and other sub-specialty organizations as indicated especially in MRI and MRL. Develops and maintains all required and appropriate documentation for daily, monthly and annual calibration. Participates in the education/research program of hospital and department. Ensures that appropriate quality measures and training are in place for the safe and accurate treatment. Developing adoptive therapy and innovative treatments. Assists with performing broader role in oncology physics duties. Requirements

  • PhD in Physics, Medical Physics, or other related physician science field of study.
  • 2 years of radiation employment experience.
  • Completion of CAMPEP approved medical physics residency.
  • This position requires a formal degree in the cited discipline area(s) to ensure that candidates have the foundational knowledge and skill set required to perform the duties of the position.
  • The level of degree is based on accreditation requirements, institutional standards of academic and professional excellence, alignment with peer institution benchmarks, and contributes to the credibility and effectiveness of the role within the university community.
