About The Position

The Department of Social Work in the College of Public Affairs and Health Sciences at the University of North Texas invites applications for a full-time professional-track Clinical Assistant Professor. The department offers BSW and MSW programs and prepares generalist practitioners to improve quality-of-life outcomes in communities.

The successful candidate will teach in graduate and undergraduate programs, provide high-quality and innovative instruction in traditional and non-traditional formats, contribute to departmental, college, university, and professional committees as appropriate, participate in scholarly and professional activities, and demonstrate a commitment to working with students. The position is based at the University of North Texas in Denton, with a Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m. work schedule. No adverse environmental conditions are expected.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in social work from a Council on Social Work Education (CSWE)-accredited social work program.
• At least two years of full-time professional practice experience after the master’s degree.
• Experience teaching social work courses in an accredited program.
• Experience with online, hybrid, or remote instruction.
• Demonstrated excellence in teaching for all in the academic community.

Nice To Haves

• Doctoral degree (Ph.D. or DSW).
• Experience teaching multiple courses across the social work curriculum.
• Experience leading programs.
• Active LMSW or LCSW licensure in the State of Texas.
