About The Position

The School of Nursing, within the Hairston College of Health and Human Sciences at North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, is seeking a clinical assistant/associate professor whose teaching and clinical practice is focused on Family Nurse Practice. The primary purpose of this role is to provide student-centered teaching and clinical instruction of undergraduate and graduate-level courses. Faculty in this role will provide student advising, student mentoring and recruitment, curriculum development, and engagement in program assessment accreditation-related procedures. The ideal candidate will be expected to: (i) incorporate modern pedagogical skills in teaching nursing courses to undergraduate and graduate courses in family health nursing, (ii) supervise and support DNP student projects, and (ii)i provide service to the SON , the college and university as well as to appropriate community and professional organizations. This is a 12-month, non-tenure-track position.

Requirements

  • Applicants must hold a doctoral degree in nursing ( DNP or PhD)
  • Demonstrates pedagogical skills to teach in areas relevant to FNP
  • Prior teaching experience in baccalaureate and/or graduate nursing programs or credentials to meet the North Carolina Board of Nursing’s educational requirement is required.
  • Three years of clinical experience related to the concepts and theories essential in providing nursing care for Family Nurse Practice.
  • Demonstrate a strong commitment to promoting and enhancing inclusiveness, collaboration, and diversity in alignment with the University’s commitment to maintaining and enhancing a diverse environment.

  • Skills with Blackboard LMS , Banner INB , and Microsoft Office Support Software preferred
