The School of Communication Sciences and Disorders at the University of Memphis is seeking a skilled, innovative, and visionary speech-language pathologist with a strong clinical background to work in a stimulating academic setting. The Director will lead the continued development, implementation, and ongoing direction of the new online program for speech-language pathology assistants. This is a twelve-month, non-tenure-track faculty position, beginning in January 2027. The continuation of this position beyond three years is contingent upon the SLP-A program's success. This is a great opportunity for a talented speech-language pathologist to join an energized and innovative faculty. The University of Memphis has nationally recognized professional graduate programs in Speech-Language Pathology and Audiology, a research-oriented PhD, and a bachelor’s degree in American Sign Language and Deaf Studies. The SLP-A program would be a new addition to the school’s offerings. The school houses the Memphis Speech and Hearing Center, which serves as both the experiential learning laboratory for students and as a comprehensive communication healthcare center to the Memphis metropolitan area. The Director is encouraged to establish a line of clinical service in his or her area of expertise. Professional activity is expected, and research opportunities are available. The School of Communication Sciences and Disorders works to create diverse and accessible work, educational, and research environments. The School welcomes a wide range of ideas, practices, and expertise across the breadth and depth of the human experience.
