Requirements

  • Current licensure as a registered nurse in the State of Florida or Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC).
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • A minimum of one year of experience as a Registered Nurse; acute care setting preferred.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing Degree (BSN) preferred.
  • Certification in area of expertise.
  • May require one or more of the following certifications based on the assigned patient population: Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support(ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP), Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC).

Responsibilities

  • Leading shift operations to ensure high-quality care, exceptional customer experience, and optimal patient flow.
  • Providing guidance and fostering collaboration with the Department Nursing Operations Manager and Assistant Nursing Operations Manager.
  • Managing the unit's clinical operations, including patient care assignments, customer experience, productivity, and quality outcomes.
  • Managing staffing assignments based on patient acuity and team member skill sets.
  • Coordinating patient flow with Administrative Supervisors, Care Coordinators, and Discharge Planners.
  • Monitoring the overall status of patients, with close attention to seriously ill patients.
  • Coordinating and/or participating in patient care delivery, ensuring compliance with physician orders and established policies.
  • Serving as a resource for frontline team members and providers.
  • Supporting clinical collaboration focused on expected patient length of stay.
  • Performing direct patient care activities as needed.
  • Interfacing with patients and families to enhance customer experience through Nurse Leader rounds and complaint resolution.
  • Participating in and/or leading safety huddles.
  • Communicating and promoting change and problem-solving.
  • Assessing equipment needs and ensuring staff can utilize equipment appropriately.
  • Supporting leader-driven initiatives.
  • Assisting with retention strategies for new team members.
  • Maintaining a regulatory ready environment of care.
