About The Position

Midwestern University’s College of Veterinary Medicine is seeking a Small Animal Internal Medicine specialist to join their academic and clinical team. This position offers the opportunity to educate and mentor future veterinarians, contribute to an innovative curriculum, and play a key role in the growth of the Internal Medicine program. The role involves providing advanced clinical care, teaching small animal medicine, clinical skills, and elective courses within the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) curriculum. Faculty members also serve as clinical mentors for interns and residents, emphasizing professional growth, clinical excellence, and lifelong learning. The Internal Medicine service is part of a growing specialty hospital that includes Surgery, Emergency Medicine, Cardiology, Primary Care, Physical Rehabilitation, and Anesthesiology services, promoting a collaborative and multidisciplinary approach to patient care. Faculty will have the opportunity to work closely with colleagues across specialties and help shape the future direction of the College. Requirements

  • DVM or equivalent degree
  • Eligible for Arizona veterinary licensure (faculty license pathway available for applicants without a U.S. veterinary degree)
  • Board certification (or eligibility) by ACVIM or ECVIM
  • Evidence of excellent clinical and communication skills
  • Understanding of patient-centered care
  • Willingness to engage in collaborative clinical research
  • Strong commitment to meeting the needs of students
  • Collaborative mindset to foster a team-approach to teaching and service

  • Experience in, or willingness to learn abdominal ultrasound
  • Graduate degree in a relevant field of study
