About The Position

This full-time 12-month position serves as core instructional faculty in the entry level MSOT and post-professional OTD degree programs within the Occupational Therapy Science and Technology programs. The primary responsibilities of this position will be instructional. In addition, the successful candidate will also engage in curricular design, research and scholarship, mentoring and advising students, and service to the program(s), school and/or profession. Work will be performed primarily on the UW-Milwaukee campus. The University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee College of Health Professions & Sciences offers a wide array of health-related academic programs in biomedical sciences, global health, health care administration, nursing, the rehabilitation sciences, and sustainable peacebuilding serving 2300+ students. The School of Rehabilitation Sciences & Technology (RS&T) offers programs in Occupational Therapy, Assistive Technology and Accessible Design, Athletic Training, Physical Therapy, Communication Sciences & Disorders, Performance Psychology, Rehabilitation Science, and Therapeutic Recreation. The Occupational Therapy Science and Technology Programs (OTST) are consistently ranked among the best in the nation. Requirements

  • Doctoral degree in Occupational Therapy or a related field (e.g., OTD, PhD, EdD or equivalent) by time of hire.
  • Current Wisconsin licensed Occupational Therapist or eligible for state of Wisconsin Occupational Therapy Licensure.
  • 2 years of experience in a clinical practice setting.

Nice To Haves

  • 5+ years of expertise and experience in a clinical practice setting, preferably adult physical rehabilitation.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability in either practice or academia.
  • Prior instructional experience as a fieldwork educator and/or academic educator.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills as demonstrated in application materials.
  • Demonstrated ability to work as a collaborative member of a team.
  • Assistive Technology Professional (ATP) certification or 3+ years of experience working with assistive technology in professional practice.
