Clinical Assistant Apprenticeship - Pediatric Clinic or Urgent Care
About The Position
Essentia Health is seeking individuals for its Clinical Assistant Apprenticeship Program. This program offers the opportunity to become a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) through the National Health Associations. The apprenticeship combines full-time on-the-job training with educational courses, preparing apprentices for CCMA board certification. Apprentices will be paired with mentors to learn all aspects of Clinical Assistant duties while also studying classroom materials independently, with support from instructors and staff. During the on-the-job training phase, apprentices will work at an entry-level scope, assisting RNs, Physicians, and other providers with direct patient care for patients of all ages. Opportunities are available in Pediatrics and Urgent Care departments. These positions typically work from 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with some departments offering flexibility of 32-40 hours per week.
Requirements
- Must be able to obtain CCMA Board Certification upon completion of the apprentice program and meeting on-the-job hours requirement.
- Must be Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certified, or able to obtain within 3 months.
- Working experience is recognized as a qualification to take the CCMA exam.

Responsibilities
