About The Position

Essentia Health is seeking applications for its Clinical Assistant Apprenticeship Program. This program offers individuals the opportunity to become certified as a Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) through the National Health Associations. The apprenticeship combines full-time on-the-job training with educational courses, preparing apprentices to take the CCMA certification exam. Apprentices will be paired with mentors and preceptors to learn all aspects of Clinical Assistant duties while also studying classroom materials with support from instructors and staff. During the on-the-job training phase, apprentices will work at an entry-level scope, assisting RNs, physicians, and other providers with direct patient care for patients of all ages. Opportunities are available in Pediatrics and Urgent Care departments.

Requirements

• Must obtain Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification within 3 months.
• Must obtain CCMA Board Certification upon completion of the apprentice program and meeting on-the-job hours requirement.

Nice To Haves

• Individuals have the opportunity to become certified through the National Health Associations CCMA (Certified Clinical Medical Assistant) Certification program.
• Working experience as a qualification to take the exam.
