About The Position

We are seeking Licensed Mental Health Professionals to provide Comprehensive Clinical Assessments (CCAs) for individuals seeking services. This is a high-impact contract opportunity ideal for clinicians who want flexible work while directly improving access to care for high-need populations. Assessments are typically conducted: In-person at ACTT offices nearest the client In community settings Via telehealth (when clinically appropriate) Candidates open to regional or statewide travel are highly preferred.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in: Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, Marriage & Family Therapy or related field
  • Active, unrestricted North Carolina licensure (LCMHC, LCSW, LMFT, LCAS, etc.)
  • Experience with: Clinical assessments, Diagnostic evaluations, Behavioral health documentation
  • Strong understanding of: DSM-5, Risk assessment, Treatment planning
  • Excellent communication and engagement skills
  • Ability to maintain compliant, timely documentation
  • Comfort using EHR systems

  • Experience with NC Medicaid or managed care populations
  • Familiarity with ASAM criteria and substance use assessment
  • Experience with co-occurring disorders
  • Works independently and manages a flexible schedule effectively
  • Demonstrates strong clinical judgment and attention to detail

Responsibilities

  • Conduct Comprehensive Clinical Assessments (CCAs) and diagnostic evaluations
  • Complete biopsychosocial assessments, mental status exams, and risk assessments
  • Gather clinical data through: Interviews, Record reviews, Collateral contacts, Screening tools
  • Evaluate: Presenting symptoms, Trauma and behavioral health history, Medical background and medications, Functional needs, risks, and strengths
  • Apply DSM-5 criteria to develop diagnostic impressions
  • Determine medical necessity and recommend appropriate levels of care
  • Ensure timely, accurate documentation in the electronic health record
  • Collaborate with ACTT teams, referral partners, and clinical leadership
  • Participate in clinical consultation when needed
