About The Position

The Clinical Applications Support Specialist will communicate with non-technical users to resolve issues and errors in clinical applications. This role involves working independently and collaboratively with the clinical application support team to resolve user helpdesk tickets and diagnose application errors. The specialist will also assist with data cleanup within assigned clinical applications and research patient data across multiple applications to resolve discrepancies in clinical and demographic data. Additionally, the role requires accepting higher-level training related to all clinical applications and software, including EHRs, and attending necessary workshops, conferences, and seminars for professional growth.

Responsibilities

  • Communicate with non-technical users to resolve issues and errors in clinical applications.
  • Work independently and with other members of the clinical application support team for the resolution of user helpdesk tickets and diagnosis of application errors.
  • Assist with data clean up within the clinical applications assigned.
  • Research patient data across multiple applications to resolve discrepancy issues in both clinical and demographic data.
  • Accept higher-level training related to all clinical applications and software, to include EHRs.
  • Attend workshops, conferences and seminars necessary for professional growth (internal and external meetings).
  • Participate in staff training processes related to the EHR patient/client records systems.
  • Participate and assist in the development of training materials.
  • Assist in documenting internal processes in relation to workflows and clinical application configuration and capabilities within the organization.
  • Assist in the incorporation of system upgrades and training refreshers into ongoing clinic orientation and training.
  • Train/assist staff on the use of clinical applications; perform on-site orientation, on-site demo and other training as assigned.
  • Assist in monitoring and recording of training activities and programs’ effectiveness.
  • Provide technical support and assistance to staff in using all clinical applications and processes.
  • Assist authorized parties in obtaining reports from the Practice Management and Electronic Medical Record systems.
  • Provide technical assistance in report generation as required.
  • Greet internal or external customers with courtesy, making eye contact, responding with a proper tone and nonverbal language.
  • Listen to the internal or external customer attentively, reassuring and understanding of the request and providing appropriate options or resolutions.
  • Provide services required by following established protocols and when needed, procure additional help to answer questions to ensure appropriate services are delivered.
  • Take initiative and anticipate internal or external customer needs by engaging them in the process and following up as needed.
  • Prioritize internal or external customer requests to ensure prompt and effective response.
  • Ensure proper handwashing according to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines.
  • Understand and appropriately act upon the assigned role in Emergency Code System.
  • Understand and perform assigned roles in the organization’s Continuity of Operations Plan (COOP).
  • Participate in health center developmental activities as requested.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
