Under the guidance of senior team members, implement, administer, and support assigned clinical and ancillary systems. Act as a liaison between clinical staff and the Clinical Applications team to ensure that the healthcare technology systems are integrated and utilized effectively. Coordinate application support with other information technology teams. Implement changes and optimizations using documented procedures that are compliant with department’s policies and procedures. Provide solutions to trouble tickets, fulfill service requests, and take an active role in assigned department and organizational projects. Engage in optimization of clinical applications and assessment of clinical workflows to improve the quality of patient care, clinical outcomes, and workflow efficiency. Assist with educational initiatives in areas of clinical application utilization and other areas where technology and clinical care intersect.

Requirements

  • 1-5 years of work experience in Application/Software support.
  • Degree from an accredited college; preferably with an emphasis in healthcare, adult education or information management is a plus.
  • Experience in a healthcare environment is preferred.
  • Enthusiasm for learning innovative technologies and techniques.
  • Positive attitude in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to work with a multi-discipline team.

Responsibilities

  • Implement, administer, and support assigned systems under the guidance of senior members of the team.
  • Work with collaborative teams to improve, optimize and enhance assigned applications to drive clinical and business outcomes.
  • Perform technical support tasks, technical installations, maintenance, technical analysis, testing and documentation, as well as troubleshoot systems and associated interfaces.
  • Coordinate application support with other information technology teams.
  • Provide Tier II support for multiple high-volume software systems during business hours, after hours, and weekends, when necessary.
  • Review and analyze the system and performance indicators to locate problems, and correct errors.
  • Escalate problems and issues to appropriate staff to ensure timely resolution.
  • Participate in system-wide Information Services projects as assigned.
  • Act as a liaison between assigned departments, clinical end users and technical personnel.
  • Assist in the coordination and maintenance of all current systems for assigned departments.
  • Provide in-person support for providers and end users as needed during and after clinical system implementations and upgrades.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement in clinical processes and workflows.
  • Analyze and document user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate or improve existing systems.
  • Engage with department super users to improve office clinical operations.
  • Assist in documentation of workflows, configure and/or build activities, change management adherence, end user notifications, training information and status reporting.
  • Analyze systems and processes to identify opportunities for improvement in patient care and provider productivity.
  • Improve how applications are configured to help users understand the limitations and capabilities of information systems and associated applications.
  • Assist in training users on upgrades and new installations.
  • Assist with educational initiatives in clinical application utilization, data reporting, and other areas of clinical technology.
