About The Position

Provides clinical training and support to customers, as a subject matter expert in dosimetry, on-site and/or remotely to ensure customer is prepared to operate their equipment according to a minimum of safe and effective use guidelines and to fully utilize the complex functionality of the technology to meet their business needs. This role involves assisting in managing customer clinical expectations, providing competitive product performance information, and potentially coordinating or leading training courses and large group presentations. The position also involves formulating support training materials and collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize customer relations. For the Oncology Systems business, this position requires full access to client sites, necessitating compliance with Vendor Credentialing requirements. The role includes performing all required applications specialist responsibilities, such as creating and maintaining customer training support documents and overseeing training for other Clinical Applications Specialists and new product releases.

Requirements

  • Must be a Certified Dosimetrist.
  • Clinical understanding of the processes in a medical and/or radiation oncology department.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Exemplary communication skills (listening, verbal, written).
  • Adaptable, positive, and open to new ideas and/or situations.
  • Highly motivated self-starter who takes initiative.
  • Enthusiastic learner who is eager to meet challenges and quickly assimilate new concepts.
  • Obtains and completes LMS training plan specific to assigned responsibility.
  • Meets all Vendor Credentialing requirements necessary to gain VMS client site access, unless prohibited by law.
  • Experienced knowledge in use of remote training tools (i.e. Smart Connect, virtual classroom) and business tools such as: Microsoft Office Suite, SalesForce, ServiceMax, Qlikview and Learning Management System (LMS).
  • Complete understanding and wide application of documentation, standards, principles, concepts and techniques in the field.
  • Works on assignments that are moderately difficult, requiring judgment in resolving issues or in making recommendations.
  • Proficient at leading a team and taking on special assignments.
  • Proficient delivery of training for a minimum of 20%-30% of Varian products.
  • Experienced product knowledge to support cross functional teams (i.e. trade shows, sales support, marketing, testing).
  • Mentors Clinical Training Specialist I and II.
  • Receives little instruction on day-to-day work, general instructions on newly introduced assignments.
  • Administrative Compliance in good standing.
  • Solid proficiencies, some strengths and opportunities for development of identified areas in development plan.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 2 -3 years clinical experience or equivalent.
  • 3 years in position.
  • Enrollment in Varian approved Development Program.
  • Requirement to travel into Canada and must meet Canadian Border Services requirements.
  • Valid U.S or Canadian driver’s license.
  • Must be able to work with controlled technology in accordance with US export control law.

  • Meets all Vendor Credentialing requirements necessary to gain client site access (unless prohibited by law).
