This position is full time (40 hours / week), Monday - Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00 am - 5:30 pm HST. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime and weekends. We offer 12+ weeks of paid training. The hours during training will be 8:00 am - 4:30 pm HST, Monday - Friday. Training will be conducted virtually from your home.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma / GED
  • Must be 18 years of age OR older
  • 2+ years of customer service experience
  • Experience with Microsoft Word (ability to edit, create, and save documents), Microsoft Excel (ability to edit, create, and save spreadsheets), and Microsoft Outlook (sending / receiving emails and calendar invites)
  • Ability to work on Saturdays as needed
  • Ability to work full time (40 hours / week), Monday - Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work any of our 8-hour shift schedules during our normal business hours of 8:00 am - 5:30 pm HST. It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime and weekends.
  • Reside within the state of Hawaii
  • Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
  • Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy.
  • Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service.
  • All employees working remotely will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group’s Telecommuter Policy

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working within the health care Industry and with health care insurance
  • Experience working in a hospital, physician's office or medical clinic setting
  • Experience working in a call center
  • Clerical or administrative support background
  • Knowledge of ICD - 10 and CPT codes

Responsibilities

  • Manage administrative intake of members
  • Work with hospitals, clinics, facilities and the clinical team to manage requests for services from members and / or providers
  • Process prior authorizations, including intake, notification and census activities
  • Assist clinical staff with preparing documents and triage cases for Clinical Coverage Review
  • Handle inquiries and resolve issues from members and/or providers
  • Support a predominantly administrative role with lower inbound call volume, allowing for a strong focus on documentation accuracy, coordination and follow through
