About The Position

Herzing University is seeking an Adjunct (part-time) Faculty member for the Surgical Technology Program. This role involves teaching and engaging students, initially requiring 20 hours per week. A key aspect of this position is finding clinical sites and leveraging local connections to establish student placements. The faculty member will be responsible for teaching and learning, scholarship of teaching and learning, and academic and institutional service, encompassing competencies such as subject matter expertise, effective communication, pedagogical mastery, operational excellence, appreciation and promotion of diversity, assessment of student learning, utilization of technology, and continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • Associate's degree in a related discipline
  • Graduate of an education program in surgical technology accredited by a nationally recognized programmatic accreditation agency
  • Possess a credential in the field of surgical technology through a national certification program accredited by the National Commission on Certifying Agencies (NCAA)
  • At least 3 years of experience in the operating room scrub role or as an instructor in surgical technology (or a combination of both) within the past 5 years
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills necessary to maintain positive, professional interactions with students, alumni, faculty, and employer partners
  • Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. We do not sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.
