About The Position

Ivy Tech Evansville seeks an Electric Line Technology Adjunct Instructor to provide engaging instruction in all delivery methods and formats within Electric Line Technology. Electric Line Technology students will study the electrical principles required for installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting power lines. They'll also learn about transformers, grounding, protective equipment, climbing techniques and tools, and rigging. These students may go on to pursue careers as Electric Linemen or be a journeyman line worker.

Requirements

  • Candidates considered for adjunct positions under this postings must be able to provide instruction in person at the Evansville, IN campus.
  • Journeyperson line worker card
  • At least five years of field experience.
  • Possesses a baccalaureate degree, or higher, in technology, engineering, engineering technology or a baccalaureate degree, or higher, directly related to the program’s discipline
  • Must be available to teach in person on the Evansville, IN campus

  • Experience providing instruction at a post-secondary institute.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all instructional duties necessary to teach and facilitate student learning in assigned classes.
  • Provide syllabus appropriate to course(s) being taught to students and follows syllabus content and requirements.
  • Maintain student attendance and grading records according to College policy as outlined in the Adjunct Handbook.
  • Submits requested information within established timelines.
  • Is available to students outside scheduled class time to answer questions/provide assistance.
  • Deal with student concerns and, if necessary, consult with program coordinator to resolve issues.
  • Meet all scheduled classes of contracted course(s). Use technology such as Blackboard, Canva, PowerPoint, etc. as appropriate.
  • In event of emergency absence, notifies program/department chair.
  • Conduct all activities with an appreciation and respect for diversity of people, styles, and views. Promote same as an integral part of one's work.
