Requirements

  • Minimum of an associate degree is required.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of medical office experience is required.
  • Prior Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience is required.
  • Demonstrated experience with and proficiency in Microsoft Windows systems and applications.
  • Ability to navigate complex systems and effectively communicate recommendations, workflows, and action plans to team members, leadership, and physicians as needed.
  • Demonstrates strong servant leadership skills with a collaborative, team-oriented approach.
  • Demonstrated ability to initiate, work independently, and effectively multitask.
  • Strong understanding of patient access workflows (scheduling, triage, referral management, insurance verification).
  • Excellent attendance, time management, and work ethic.
  • Positive attitude and desire to be a team player.
  • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively with patients, physicians, and other team members.
  • A commitment to patient-focused care, privacy, and safety.

Nice To Haves

  • Healthcare supervisory and/or specialty care Dermatology experience is a strong plus!
  • Epic experience is preferred!
  • Prior experience in patient scheduling, referrals, authorizations, or clinical operations is strongly preferred.
  • Experience in healthcare revenue cycle processes is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Acts as a working supervisor, providing superior leadership and excellent communication skills while demonstrating professional examples for staff to follow.
  • Ensures the successful operations of the department, using continuous improvement efforts and ensuring standard operating procedures are documented, current, and well communicated to staff.
  • Functions as the primary liaison between patients, clinic staff, and physicians to provide excellent patient care.
  • Supervises and coordinates the activities of all or some of the following: registration, scheduling, and medical records.
  • Builds strong department accountability and works with the Manager/Director to create a nimble, safe, and respectful environment. Models desired behavior.
  • Serves as primary contact at the location for resolving issues relating to facilities and grounds, patient concerns, patient confidentiality and release records, safety, security, and emergency preparedness.
  • Spends much of their time performing general clinic duties associated with their specialty and also supervises the staff they supervise.
  • Other duties as assigned.
