About The Position

Fairview has an immediate opening for a full-time, salaried Registered Nurse Supervisor to oversee RN and support staff in endocrinology at the University of Minnesota Health Clinics and Surgery Center. This role involves working 80 hours every two weeks, with 80% of time at the Minneapolis Clinical Surgery Center and 20% at the Maple Grove MG Ambulatory Care Center. The clinics operate Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The Supervisor Patient Care-Clinics is responsible for planning, organizing, coordinating, and providing professional nursing care for patients in an ambulatory care setting.

Requirements

  • Associates Degree in Nursing
  • 1 year of demonstrated leadership experience
  • MN Registered Nurse (RN) License
  • Basic Life Support (American Heart Assoc or Red Cross)

  • Experience with endocrinology/diabetes patient population
  • Certified Diabetes Educator

Responsibilities

  • Deliver care that is sensitive to the unique needs of the ages served by the clinic, while following established standards and protocols.
  • Provide professional nursing care for clinic patients following established nursing standards and practices.
  • Support quality patient and family-centered care principles as a member of the care team by performing a variety of high-level functions to support the needs of the healthcare team and patients/families.
  • Educate patients and the public about various medical conditions.
  • Maintain complete, timely, and accurate clinical documentation for each patient.
  • Continually look for opportunities to improve processes and workflow.
  • Manage the operations of designated staff, both clinical and non-clinical.
  • Oversee front desk, check-in, and non-clinical staff operations.
  • Provide work flow direction and management consistent with achieving department and organizational objectives.
  • Achieve coordination, consistency, and integration in the operation of the clinic site.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of policies and procedures.
  • Assist in strategic planning and budgeting.
  • Lead and/or participate in improvement projects/teams.
