About The Position

This position is for a PRN (as needed) Clinic RN/LPN/CMA/MA. The role involves utilizing the nursing process to provide patient care, collaborating with healthcare providers, performing emergency treatments, maintaining documentation, communicating effectively, and promoting patient and staff safety.

Requirements

  • Current RN, LPN, CMA, or MA license/certification.
  • Proficiency in the nursing process.
  • Ability to perform complete admission evaluations.
  • Skill in conducting comprehensive nursing assessments and full body system analysis.
  • Ability to administer and perform nursing assessments.
  • Knowledge of health care provider orders and ability to implement them.
  • Ability to recognize abnormal symptoms/changes in patient condition and take appropriate action.
  • Ability to serve as a patient advocate.
  • Ability to perform patient rounding.
  • Ability to evaluate patient progress.
  • Accountability in patient care delivery.
  • Ability to provide intravenous interventions (for LPN-C).
  • Collaboration skills with healthcare providers and ancillary areas.
  • Initiative and flexibility in patient care.
  • Ability to inform and involve Nurse Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, intervene, and evaluate patient care.
  • Performs complete admission evaluations and comprehensive nursing assessments.
  • Administers and performs nursing assessments in accordance with the applicable patient type.
  • Reviews, discusses, and implements health care provider orders and takes appropriate action if questions arise.
  • Responds to patient needs in a timely fashion.
  • Recognizes abnormal symptoms/changes in patient condition, establishes priorities, and takes appropriate action.
  • Serves as a patient advocate.
  • Performs patient rounding for all patient assignments.
  • Evaluates patient progress toward desired outcomes prior to discharge.
  • Demonstrates personal accountability in the delivery of patient care.
  • Provides intravenous interventions within the scope of practice for LPN-C.
  • Collaborates with health care providers to coordinate medical and nursing management of patient care.
  • Works effectively with ancillary areas as part of the team approach to patient care.
  • Demonstrates initiative and flexibility in the provision of patient care.
  • Informs and involves Nurse Manager regarding patient care issues.
  • Completes patient and family education throughout the patient’s visit.
  • Performs emergency treatment as required.
  • Initiates or assists in patient care in an effective and responsive manner.
  • Triage emergency situations appropriately and involves other resources as appropriate.
  • Administers and performs emergent care in accordance with the applicable patient population type.
  • Follows emergency policies, procedures, and protocols.
  • Performs and maintains documentation, including accurate and ongoing assessments, nursing interventions, patient responses, patient teaching, and status of outcomes.
  • Communicates and collaborates effectively with other health team members regarding patient condition, patient satisfaction needs, and recommendations.
  • Appropriately reports condition changes to medical provider.
  • Promotes and ensures patient and staff safety.
  • Administers medications, treatments, and procedures in a timely and safe manner.
  • Performs standard precautions, uses two patient identifiers, and performs patient risk assessments every shift.
  • Utilizes proper body mechanics, transfer/lifting techniques to minimize fall risk and injury.
  • Implements infectious disease controls, including isolation procedures, proper hand hygiene, and glove use.
  • Follows proper procedures for disposal of sharps and hazardous materials.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
