The Clinic RN Family Practice position is a full-time role with day shifts. The role involves direct patient care, including recording patient status, medical history, vital statistics, and medication reconciliation in the Electronic Medical Record (EMR). The nurse is responsible for maintaining patient confidentiality, collecting and transporting specimens, preparing for procedures, and assisting providers with tests and procedures. Key responsibilities include administering medications accurately, monitoring IV fluids, assessing patients for safety and medication appropriateness, and translating medications into pediatric doses. The role also requires identifying victims of abuse and reporting as necessary. The nurse must maintain compliance with all department, clinic, state, and federal regulations and policies, utilize proper phone etiquette for patient interactions, and care for instruments through cleaning, packaging, and sterilizing. Participation in mandatory in-services, staff meetings, and emergency preparedness drills is expected. The RN will act as a resource person, a positive team member, and a liaison between patients, families, providers, and staff. The position also involves completing assigned workload, floating to other clinical departments as needed, and performing other duties as assigned.
