About The Position

Bear Lake Memorial Healthcare is seeking a qualified receptionist to help them in all physicians’ clinics. The receptionist will be responsible for checking patients in and out, managing appointments, and supporting the professional staff with patient care tasks.

  • Ability to operate computer (basic skills including keyboarding).
  • Basic computer and secretarial skills.

  • Must be able to sit for long periods.
  • Some standing, lifting, bending, twisting required.
  • Must be able to complete essential duties with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • Must contribute to the culture and/or mission of the most caring hospital.

Responsibilities

  • Register patients upon arrival for all clinic providers and services.
  • Assist the professional staff as needed with patients.
  • Help incoming and outgoing patients.
  • Assist in making calls to pharmacy for physicians to inquire and/or submit prescriptions.
  • Take messages from patients and relay to providers or other staff.
  • Have the ability to discern urgent/emergent needs of patients.
  • Assist in directing patient to exam room when needed.
  • Handle telephone calls (primarily incoming, and some outgoing patient messages).
  • Schedule and confirm patient appointments.
  • Process patient payments.
  • Work with insurance companies for pre-authorizations when necessary.
  • Scan patient records.
  • Ensure controlled substance scripts are handled appropriately.
  • Other related duties as assigned.
