This includes primary care, specialty care, behavioral and mental health, urgent care, outpatient surgery, endoscopy, imaging, cardiac testing, and infusion across Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Maine. The specific practice is an Internal Medicine office located in a state-of-the-art facility at 10 Members Way, Suite 500 in Dover, NH 03820, providing outstanding primary care and preventative health care to adult patients. The role is for a highly organized and customer-focused team member to join a fast-paced, high-volume practice, operating Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM. This position is part of a collaborative 13-person front-end team responsible for managing a large volume of incoming calls, patient intakes, and insurance authorizations.   • Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine administrative and clerical duties relating to a clinical service or physician practice office
  • Make patient appointments and maintain appointment records
  • Greet and assist patients
  • Answer telephones, assist callers with routine inquiries, and schedule appointments
  • File materials in patient folders, and print appointment schedules
  • Process patient billing forms and scan documents to patient medical record/LMR
  • Call for patient medical records and laboratory test results
  • Open and distribute unit mail or faxes
  • Type forms, records, schedules, memos, etc., as directed
  • May be required to accept co-payments
  • Handle, screen and/or take messages related to prior authorizations, provider questions, prescription refills, and test results
  • Act as "Super User" for scheduling, registration and billing systems
  • Provide assistance and training to others in these areas
  • May perform more complex or specialized functions (i.e. surgical scheduling, schedule changes/blocking) at more advanced competency level
  • Check patients out
  • Schedule follow-up appointments
  • Process and send referrals
  • Handle insurance calls and authorizations
  • Retrieve medical records
  • Collect necessary forms and documentation
  • Support multiple functions, including check-in
  • Complete forms and schedule follow-up appointments, tests, and/or procedures during check-out
  • Field all incoming telephone calls and transfer appropriately
  • Perform referral/diagnostic/lab orders processing duties
  • Monitor patient flow and waiting room activity
  • Provide general support to practice leadership, clinicians, and peers
