We are seeking a board-certified Internal Medicine physician (MD/DO) with experience teaching residents in an outpatient setting and a passion for leadership in academic primary care. This position blends continuity care, resident education, and program leadership within a thoughtfully structured weekday schedule. Practice Model Morning continuity clinics with your own independent patient panel Up to two learners (Internal Medicine residents and/or medical students) paired with you Afternoon resident clinic focused on dedicated precepting No double-booking of your personal patient panel Shared clinic call coverage within a collegial faculty group 0.5 day of protected administrative time weekly, with flexibility based on leadership and program responsibilities Back-Up Phone Call Only in rotation every 3rd to 4th week

Requirements

  • Unrestricted State of Connecticut medical license (or eligible)
  • MD or DO, BE/BC Internal Medicine
  • Flexible, collaborative, and excited to contribute beyond traditional clinical duties
  • Passionate about academic medicine, team-based care, and caring for underserved populations

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience teaching Internal Medicine residents in an outpatient clinic setting
  • Proven leadership experience in clinical operations, education, quality improvement, or administration

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality, comprehensive outpatient primary care to a diverse and underserved patient population
  • Teach, supervise, and mentor Internal Medicine residents and medical students in the ambulatory setting
  • Shape resident education through curriculum development, bedside teaching, and longitudinal mentorship
  • Lead or participate in quality improvement initiatives and academic projects
  • Take on leadership responsibilities within the clinic and residency program, aligned with your interests and experience
  • Collaborate with an interdisciplinary care team to continuously improve patient care and learner experience
