This is a full-time position for a Clinic Phlebotomist at Hartland, working 32 hours a week. The schedule typically includes Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays with potential for schedule changes due to department needs. The role involves verifying patient identification, assessing patient reactions to specimen procurement, performing venipuncture and collecting other specimens from patients of all age groups according to established protocols. The phlebotomist will also perform limited testing under CLIA guidelines, answer phones, assist with inventory and supplies, support billing functions, process specimens for testing, and respond to specimen procurement requests. Additionally, the role includes ordering and verifying test requests, documenting information for quality assurance, running quality control checks, notifying providers of critical results, entering laboratory results into the computer system, performing proficiency testing, reviewing reports, and instructing employees and students in phlebotomy and related functions. The position requires the ability to provide age-appropriate care and interpret patient status based on age-specific needs.
