The Clinic Phlebotomist is responsible for verifying positive patient identification, assessing patient reactions to specimen procurement, and performing venipuncture and collecting other specimens from patients of all age groups according to established protocols. This role also involves performing limited testing under CLIA guidelines, answering telephone calls, assisting with inventory and supplies, and processing specimens for testing. Additionally, the phlebotomist will order and verify test requests, document information for quality assurance, run quality control checks, notify providers of abnormal results, and perform laboratory result entry. The position also includes instructing employees and students in phlebotomy and related functions, and demonstrating knowledge of age-specific care needs.
