The phlebotomist will also be responsible for ensuring timely and accurate specimen collection, proper labeling, and resolving any identification or requisition issues. Additionally, the role includes performing limited testing under CLIA guidelines, answering phones, assisting with inventory and supplies, supporting billing functions, and processing specimens for testing. The position also requires ordering and verifying test requests, documenting information for quality assurance, running quality control checks, notifying providers of critical results, entering laboratory results into the computer system, and performing proficiency testing. The role may also involve instructing employees and students in phlebotomy and related functions, and demonstrating knowledge of age-specific care needs.
